- YES, depending on your county you may be able to get as much as your entire Part B premium, or as little as 20$
Is it true that a Medicare Advantage HMO will not cover me out of network?
- NO, in the case of an emergency, if it is an emergency, you are covered anywhere as in network even if you are out of state. Yes, for routine care, in most cases you cannot get coverage for routine care out of network.
If I missed AEP (Annual Enrollment Period Oct 15 - Dec 7) Is there another time I can change my Advantage Plan?
- YES, there is OEP (Open Enrollment Period Jan 1 - Mar 31) there may also be special circumstances. It is almost always better to check with an agent and see if something applies to you!
Is there really a pre-paid Visa card with some Medicare Advantage Plans?
- YES, some plans do offer a Visa Flex card, some cards can range up to over 2,500$ for medical expenses like dental, or an extra paid of sunglasses!
Is it true that Medicare Advantage plans cover things Medicare does not?
- YES, Medicare Advantage can most of the time, have extras like Dental, Vision, Hearing, Transportation, and even things like a monthly over-the-counter allowance!
If I sign up for a Medicare Advantage Plan, am I locked in for the year?
- While the Medicare Advantage plans are designed and have a 12-month contract, there are many special circumstances that will allow someone the chance to switch. It is always best to check with a licensed agent to make sure something is not available before giving up!
Will Medicare Advantage mess up my coverage with the V.A. (Veterans Administration)?
- NO, many veterans take advantage by using both their Medicare Advantage for extra coverage on things like dental or extra money included on their social security check and visiting there local V.A. locations. Medicare advantage DOES NOT affect V.A. coverage.
If my drug plan worked great this year, it should be the same next year, right?
- Maybe, drug plans can change drastically year to year, sometimes they are discontinued all together and you can be automatically switched to a different drug card if you do not respond to the mailed warnings. I always advise clients to check their prescriptions every year before the Annual Election Period to make sure!
If I am healthy and don't take prescriptions, why should I enroll into a prescription card?
- Medicare charges a 1% penalty vs the national average premium every MONTH that someone who is eligible for part D but does not enroll or enroll in other creditable coverage. That over a few years can turn into a costly penalty, and it is for life.
Is it true that Medicare Advantage can cover my gym membership?
- YES, most Medicare Advantage plans do include some form of gym membership where they cover the cost 100%, check with an agent on which plans cover which gyms and get the most out of your area!

Is it true that a Medicare Supplement can include coverage for travel outside the U.S.?
- YES, some supplements can include foreign travel coverage up to a certain dollar amount, call an agent year and we can give you exactly what coverage is available in your county!
My hospital accepts Medicare but charges 15% more than what Medicare will approve, can my supplement help?
- YES, some states charge excess fees of up to 15% and some supplements like F, and G will even cover that extra 15% at no extra cost to the policy holder!
Can I purchase a Medicare Supplement that includes a Medicare Part D card?
- No supplement in the private marketplace includes a Medicare Part D prescription card, those can be purchased separately, and you will receive a different card for prescriptions.
